
Pediatric Endocrinology Assistant Professor and Associate Fellowship Director
Dr. Angelina Bernier is a pediatric endocrinologist who specializes in pediatric diabetes and obesity. She completed her college and medical training at of the University of Florida and remained for Pediatric Residency, and Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship. After graduating, she moved north and worked at Boston University and Joslin Diabetes Center but after seven years and three child, she is now back home. Her current research focus is the development of an animated diabetes education program for children with diabetes. One of her main interests is improving the patient and family experience of diabetes care with focus on health communication for Hispanic families.
In addition to diabetes and technology research, she is developing a pediatric obesity program and working in collaboration with nutrition groups on campus and the UF bariatric surgery program. In 2008, Angelina was inducted into the National Hispanic Society Hall of Fame for exemplifying limitless potential and she hopes that her efforts in and out of work fulfill that promise.
