Amy Aponick

Amy Aponick is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator who works with the University of Florida Pediatric Endocrinology group in Gainesville, Florida.  She holds a B.S. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Biology and a Master of Public Health in Human Nutrition from the University of Michigan.  Amy has been practicing as a dietitian/nutritionist for 15 years and as a certified diabetes educator for the past 9 years with experience in all types of diabetes management.  She also has experience with diabetes management at home, as her husband was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes not long before they met and he has been a constant inspiration to her ever since.

Amy is passionate about helping to improve the lives of those living with diabetes by helping them and their families consistently work toward a better understanding of diabetes management with realistic goals and expectations.  She enjoys training patients on insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors and she loves continually learning about all of the newest technologies that are helping to improve the lives of those living with diabetes.  Since her foundation is in public health and nutrition, healthy eating remains one of Amy’s main priorities as she truly enjoys helping families develop healthy nutritional habits as part of the diabetes management journey.
